Here’s what our exhibitors had to say:

Clive Callaway
General Manager, Team Jetstar said:

“Of the candidates that attended over two days of the NZ Job Expo, it is estimated that 95% of candidates attended and interacted with the Jetstar staff at our stand.  The exercise was an extremely successful event from a Jetstar perspective:

  • Interest was high from candidates particularly in the Airport Customer Service and Cabin Crew areas
  • Recommendation to all candidates to check on Jetstar.com and Seek.co.nz websites

High quality contacts within recruitment related areas forged (i.e., web based recruitment companies and career advisors).

Media - Two television interviews conducted regarding the NZ Job Expo and recruitment opportunities in the future at JQ New Zealand - TV One and World TV Limited.

Relationships built with local business, youth sporting teams, and a local primary school.

The JQ expo team gave away approximately 2000 Jetstar branded drink bottles, orange jelly beans, JQ stickers and fans. This exercise served as an extremely valuable PR tool for Jetstar in New Zealand, the general feedback from the majority of visitors to the expo was one of support for the airline. Comments included:  "we are glad you are here", "Jetstar is good for competition", "I have flown Jetstar in AUS and will support you in NZ" , "Welcome to New Zealand, you will get over the teething problems."

“We had a great result from the expo.  One of the positions that we were looking for was an Economist position.  Well we found one at the expo.  She started about 2 weeks after we contacted her.  She is working out really well.  We had been looking for about 6 months, now we have a great one!”

Janne Sawada
Executive Director, Mannatech said:

"The NZ Job Expo was fantastic!  Well organized, well patronized and a real success.  The staff were always on hand if necessary ... even down to organizing complimentary massages for the exhibitors.  It doesn't get better than that."

Carl Robinson
Executive Manager, Randstad said:

"This is the first time that we have attended and exhibited at the NZ Job Expo and the result of the weekend definitely means that we will be a regular. Our business covers all areas of recruitment and the interest and response of Expo goers was extremely positive.  Within just the IT sector, we gained over 80 CV's whilst all business areas collated close to 600 resumes. The event organisers were extremely helpful in bringing high level, potential employees to our stand to register and the amenities offered to exhibitors were clean and free.  A great time was had by all involved and we are now all professionals at making blue candy floss (I hope you all enjoyed).  We look forward to placing a number of the individuals who registered with us at the Expo - thank you guys."

Karen Barron
New Business Acquisitions, MYJOBSPACE.CO.NZ said:

"The recent NZ Job Expo held in Auckland exceeded all of our expectations.  The NZ Job Expo team were sensational, they went above and beyond the call of duty for us.  We set ourselves a goal of signing up 600 new jobhunters during the expo, our actual numbers were just over 1500!!  We have also had many of the exhibitors contact us over the past few days, they all saw how busy we were and want to take advantage of our website to advertise their vacancies and training courses.  Thanks for a busy and exciting weekend, and we will see you all next year."

Chris Rofe
Managing Director, Tradeze said:

"The NZ Job Expo was a launch for Tradeze in Auckland and proved to be a success.  The amount of skilled and experienced tradespeople registering is clearly an indication of the talent available in the region."

Tony Lucas
Flight Sergeant, Royal New Zealand Air Force said:

"I have to say that we were very impressed with the organization of the expo, especially the support we got from the team.  We were blown away with the interest we had at our stand.  The event was a great success and we had no hesitation in signing up again for a stand at the NZ Job Expo."

John Watson
Human Resources Manager, Siemens (NZ) Ltd said:

"My team and I completely underestimated the number of people who'd approach our exhibit.  Within the first three hours we ran out of material to give to job seekers.  At one stage, we had six people abreast queued up with at least four people behind each of them waiting to speak with us.  Whilst this may sound awful, to us it was a very pleasant surprise.  We collected hundreds of CV's from potential candidates and have already placed three people into roles.  Those placements alone have paid for the cost of hiring our booth."
